As a proud supporter of Manufacturer Day 2018, Richards Industries is excited to drive awareness of manufacturing, the exciting career opportunities that are available and the advanced technologies that are driving the industry. This is an annual event that occurs on the first Friday of October and gives all manufacturers a chance to open their doors to showcase the potential of modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers. We look forward to this event every year.
“Manufacturing Day is a great opportunity for us to highlight the work we do while, at the same time, change perceptions of the industry to inspire the next generation to join the modern manufacturing workforce”, says Bruce Broxterman, President of Richards Industries. “We want to ignite curiosity among students about career possibilities and showcase opportunities that are available in their community.”
We are excited to welcome students from two local high schools – Purcell Marion and Elder High School – to discuss the current trends and innovations in the industry, as well as address challenges faced by manufacturers. The students will also have the opportunity to speak with Richards’ employees about the next generation of manufacturing and how they can pave their own career paths in this industry.
About Manufacturing Day
Manufacturing Day addresses common misconceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is – and what it isn’t. Manufacturers can address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of their public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry. Manufacturing Day is designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges. The rallying point for a growing mass movement, MFG DAY empowers manufactures to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
