Participating in sponsorships and organizations such as DePaul Cristo Rey High School are just one way Richards Industries meets its commitment to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Community support is just one part of Richards Industries’ culture. We value our role as an active corporate citizen, providing support that spans social services, civic endeavors and education, and we encourage the participation of our employees in causes important to them. DePaul Cristo Rey High School is a private, college-preparatory high school located in Cincinnati, OH. The non-diocesan school, which opened June 5th, 2011, is one of 23 Catholic high schools that serve the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. The school targets students from low-income families who could not otherwise afford a private education. Students spend one day a week outside of the classroom working in one of more than 125 corporate partners ranging from law firms, media outlets, manufacturing companies and non-profits. The work offers real-world job experience while students earn a portion of the cost of their education – all without missing crucial instructional time. How in its seventh year, DePaul Cristo Rey has outgrown its campus, with 320 students enrolled this year. All the student from the first three graduating classes were accepted at four-year colleges. Now DePaul Cristo Rey is ready to embark on a major expansion. Beginning in 2018, they will break ground on the first of two new buildings on the campus. Richards Industries is proud to be one of the Nonprofit Work Study Sponsors this year and looks forward to continuing to support this terrific organization in the years to come.
