ROLE SUMMARY:

Richards Industrials is now seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-oriented Inside Sales Specialist to help us grow our valve business based in Cincinnati.  The Inside Sales Specialist is primarily responsible for providing the support for our manufacturers’ representatives, customers, and outside sales force.  He or she will communicate daily with Richards Industrials manufacturers Reps assisting them with technical support, quoting products, expediting orders, working on projects, etc.  The successful candidate will work closely with Reps, RSMs, direct customers and end-users as well internal departments such as Engineering, Planning, Production and Assembly. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Applications Support

  • Supports the Sales Team as required to maintain premier customer service.  Collaborates to understand customer requirements and propose technical solutions across the portfolio of products.
  • Interpret customer specifications and provide valve and industrial product recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team, engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve customer-specific challenges.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.

 

Project Pursuit Activities, including Spec Review, Sizing & Selection

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Support the development of quotes and proposals for customers.
  • Provide post-sale technical support to ensure successful product integration.

 

Customer Support

  • Remain grounded in transactional needs and challenges.
  • Reviews RFQ to determine customer requirements and suitability of Richards Industrials product offerings to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in the selection and configuration of appropriate products to meet client needs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
  • Carefully documenting correspondence to make future interactions easier and to allow other team members to quickly determine the application’s parameters.
  • Identify technical factors in customer inquiries that may affect cost and delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and product knowledge to provide informed guidance.
  • Provide training and support to channel partners, customers, and colleagues.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years experience 
  • Previous experience in a technical sales role, preferably in an industrial, flow control, or valve manufacturing sector a plus.
  • Strong Technical acumen with an understanding of industrial valves and related products.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities to address customer-specific challenges.
  • A proactive and customer-centric approach.
